Bankhead is a Delta cuisine restaurant rooted in the culinary traditions, cultural history, and family heritage of the Mississippi Delta. The restaurant had inherited the identity of the previous business operating in the space, while its existing “Bankhead Mississippi Style Cooking” positioning did not fully express its distinct connection to the Delta or the story behind its owner. The project focused on developing a new identity and positioning—Bankhead Delta Cuisine—that could communicate that heritage with greater clarity and distinction. Research into the history and traditions of the Mississippi Delta, along with the owner’s family roots, informed a new visual system spanning typography, color, iconography, pattern, packaging, print, digital, and brand applications.
